TILT UK
In 2010, we expanded TILT to the UK to challenge our International opportunities. We have two offices; one in East London, close to the Olympic Park site and one the Hub in Kings Cross (St. Pancras). We welcome visitors since both are fantastically eco and clever.
Why are we here?
In April of 2009, we selected London after recognising opportunities within the UK market for our services and realising a need to thoroughly experience the deeply ingrained food culture of Europe. London is known for its high-quality restaurants, expanded palate and thoughtful consideration of people and place. Time, while jam packed, still leaves room for dinners, lunches and above all, tea. We want to know about this culture, to learn and grow from a mad-world of excellently interesting people who celebrate and appreciate quality and local food.
Who went?
TILT’s E. Rachael Baird moved to London as the company representative. Most of the time is spent at the Tilt Office at the Farm: Shop in Dalston – developed by the Something and Son Team – in Hackney. Rachael frequently says, “Life has become a tribute to the opportunities which exist
only by chance, luck and working for the greater good.”
Expanding TILT:
While here, TILT will focus on Olympic opportunities, community food and developing an allergen-free cafe model. We will learn and grow from the International food culture, taking in research, experiences and ultimately solidifying a greater presence in the catering industry.
