The Mighty Little Change-Makers

April 3rd, 2011

Olivia is what we call a ‘Super Changer’. She is only 8 and has always been hand in hand with her dad, Talmadge Pearson (T$ – A great industry friend), doing what she can to create change. As a 3 year old he would take her out on sales calls and she would be the happy cookie-deliverer bringing smiles to everyone. As a 5 year old, she took a new girl from her school under her wing – Pamela an adopted
child from Nicaragua. And by 8 she is running races for causes.

Wearing the Create Change TILT t-shirt, our friend Olivia is making us proud! She is inspiration to all.

Incredible living walls

August 31st, 2009

living-wall-1

Why not make the earth apart of the decor? Often coined “Breathing Walls,” Living Walls increase circulation, cool the air and provide a wonderful art piece. Typically found in cities, high-end architectural buildings are particularly trending towards Living Walls as well as areas that are looking to retain some sense of nature.

Thank You. You’re Welcome.

April 27th, 2009

“You’re Welcome” is an organized activity that will be implemented on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:15 in different locations in Baltimore. The idea came to me because I wanted to get into neighborhoods and help organize clean ups. The idea grew and expanded, it is now an organized activity that will leave a positive effect on the community or the earth. This can range from neighborhood clean ups, teaching about environmental topics in after-school programs / community centers, helping organize a community event, etc. Any activity that will produce the response “Thank You” can be a You’re Welcome Project.

On April 24th my friend Angie and I decided to clean up the street on Fayette and Washington St. in the Washington Hill area. A banner was displayed informing people of the time and place of the next endeavor and the blog website. Check out the photos from the first “You’re Welcome” Project!

Green Business Quarterly – Tilt as a Green Design Firm

December 18th, 2008

This spring, Tilt was featured in Green Business Quarterly. This National publication, headquartered in Chicago, found Tilt while researching CSBA and BALLE members. We peaked their interest because of our unique business model and community platform. The article is a great representation and showcases Tilt as the community driven company that we strive to be.

The article was the first major publication that wrote a complete article about Tilt Studio.

Spirited Woman Award – E. Rachael Baird, Owner of Tilt

December 18th, 2008

The Spirited Woman Award was the first for Rachael. Nominated by a client and friend, she was honored to have been selected for the youngest award recipient of 2008. Created by Monyka Berrocosa from mycity4her.com and the originator of Women’s Wine and Dine, this award is meant to go towards women in the community that have done something above and beyond. Typically, the women chosen are either working in conjunction with education or helping people.

Due to the success of Baltimore: The Urban Forest Project and Rachael’s stance at the forefront of the project as the public face, she was selected as the recipient of the Woman on the Rise Award. Two other women were chosen to be honored for a total of 3 different age categories.

Co-sponsored by Smart Woman Magazine and co-hosted by The Red Cross, this was a great opportunity for the entire Tilt team, especially since Barbara Mikulski also presented an award.  Read more online.
