People’s Supermarket

August 19th, 2010

Today we had a remarkable experience working our monthly shift at The People’s Supermarket in Holburn. It was warm, inviting and enabled creative energy to really be apart of a community and get some things accomplished. The market was busy from the moment we opened at 8am, all the way until we left at 12. People came in, they asked questions and they joined in the fun with figuring out pricing!

Friday: Swiss Design Show

June 16th, 2010

My first friend I met in London (outside of High School and Life before moving here) is Regis Tosetti. Even more than my first friend, Regis is the first Swiss/Londoner I have met to date. A couple of weeks ago I went to Haberdashery London for their design party during design week in London. Regis is clever, entertaining and very well rounded in his style. He has a million unique ideas and is one of the most talented designers I have ever met. It must be the Swiss in him.

On Friday night there is a super Swiss Design show at A Foundation which is on Rochelle School and Club Row in Arnold Circus. Join us and root on Regis!

Jes-M at the Charles Village Festival

June 9th, 2009

booth2 cards-in-booth2

This past weekend was the Charles Village Festival, our neighborhood festival of vendors, music, food, fun and so much more. We were lucky enough to have our Jes-M products ready for sales at our booth, and very excited to finally debut the product line. Cards, wrap paper, and tees were our main sellers, plus we had our “Create Change” shirts with sales benefiting the Tilt Foundation. We certainly had plenty of interest and we hope that it continues as we break into the market.

If you missed us at the festival, you’re in luck. This week we are preparing for the launch of our website, which will include online purchasing! We’re very busy arranging photo shoots, assembling packages for retailers and making sure our content is perfect so that everyone will know what Jes-M is and what we’re all about. We’ll keep you updated, but be sure to check in frequently!

Jes-M Debut at Charles Village Fest!

June 7th, 2009

Jes-M is finally here. After 3 years of development, we are taking it on the road and starting to debut and test our products. First up, the Charles Village Festival on Charles Street. This two day festival has goods from all over the world.

Jes-M is a contemporary ecofriendly lifestyle product line with everything from q-tips to furniture. Our soft goods line is a collection of t-shirts, wrapping paper, wall paper, hanks and cards. Each item has been made with a consumer in mind. Ever in flux, we are continuing to make improvements every day. Please let us know your thoughts!

Two of the cards below are rewritable and plantable cards. All with the use of 100% PCW recycled paper. The cards on the right are the plantabnle cards and there are 5 differnt kinds of seeds, 1 for each style and design of card. The blast cards are perfect for the kid in you… you get to make what you want of the cards by writing a message and then the recipient can pass the card along. Eventually we will have a site to track the messages!

Tilt at EcoFest!

April 20th, 2009

Saturday was bright and shiny… marking a fantastic annual event in Druid Hill Park, the Baltimore Green Works EcoFest. In its 7th year (I believe), this event proved to be just as great as the last. All sorts of people came out to take part in the event, including the mayor!

We created the Baltimore Green Works website, which launched in March. Check out the site here.

Tilt Foundation came in support of TreeBaltimore, the Mayor’s initiative to increase the Baltimore City tree canopy from 20% to 40% by 2030. This is an important initiative for City residents because we do not have enough public land space to meet the goals of planting over 900,000 trees. On Saturday, part of our efforts were to educate land owners (private mainly) to assist us with our goal by planting trees on their property and to become ambassadors to the program, spreading the word.

As many of you know, last year we focused on these same efforts as we created Baltimore: The Urban Forest Project. TreeBaltimore is a very near and dear initiative to Tilt and we hope that you continue to support their efforts: Give money, give time, plant trees, spread the word!

Check out more photos on out Flickr account.

Rally for the River 08′

December 19th, 2008

What a successful day! With the beautiful sun beating down, the Jones Falls Expressway (83) was shut down from 7am-2pm for biking, walking, running, skateboarding, hanging out, etc. There were moonbounces and hoolahoops and food vendors… all positioned right on the highway from Northern Parkway to President Street. It was certainly a sight! Continue donating money online to the program, or plan for next year.

Everyone should definitely come out next year and support the Jones Falls Trail and Watershed! Go Baltimore!
