PaperRep: Ready to Go!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

International Paper & Lindenmeyr Munroe (we also built their eCommerce site) came to us this year with a unique proposition, to bring their very well received PaperRep Tool to an online platform and to incorporate 80% more environmental language. Through our research with our Tilt Studio Foundation, we have credibility in the enviromental forestry sector and we applied the research that we did through TreeBaltimore to this opportunity. The outcome has been remarkable. Check out a preview here.

PaperRep is an online resource and tool for designers, printers and paper professionals. This project is incredibly special to us because it effects such a broad audience and provides real solutions to environmental issues. <!–more–>

The importance of PaperRep can only start with an I.

P. Flanigan & Sons

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

P. Flanigan & Sons has been around in Baltimore for over 120 years as horizontal contractors. Their background is primarily in paving for major roads and highways, but they are also huge innovators in recycled foamed asphalt. Over the last 10 years, Flanigan has helped to shift the industry towards using more recycled content instead of virgin materials.

We provided:
1. Logo & tagline

2. Business package

3. Website: go to www.pflanigan.com

4. Interactive time line

5. Launch package

6. Stencil

7. Brochure

8. Padfolio

9. Product cut sheets

10. Marketing strategy

11. Brand Identity Manual

12. Video focus groups

The creative process for this project was great. We met with the entire Flanigan Marketing Committee and threw around ideas. Then we created our first round and had a focus group with 2 teams of around 8 people. The end result was remarkable. We completely changed our direction from the original round. These were some of our favorite sketches even though we didn’t move forward with them:

Floura Teeter… Launches!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Floura Teeter Landscape Architects is a Baltimore based firm that puts their energy into high-level creative work. Their landscapes are reflective of their passion for the outdoors and communicating a message about the space. We developed their tagline and we landing on “working from the inside out” since that is the way that they work.

We designed a full brand for their company with everything from a logo mark to the job site signage. Their launch package included video marketing and the back of their business cards were unique and mimicked the personality of the card holder.  Visit Floura Teeter online!

The Red Book wins!

Wow! I love this piece, but I wasn’t sure that others would too! Print Magazine gave us a great award and we will be in their November/December Issue this year.

The piece was created for SSP America as a PR Crisis Management Kit. It was loved so much by SSP that it was taken Global earlier in the year (or at least that is what we were told). It was meant to be bright, bold and to make an impact on the viewer. This was to ensure that there wasn’t room for error. Each of the components fit together to make a cohesive package: Casing, Rolodex Cards, Booklet, First Aid Kit, Poster, Note Pads, Pen.

Coloring outside the lines…

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Jeff Tobe is brilliant. What I love most about him is that he has taken creativity and made it profitable. This is not an easy feat. The primary hardship is that creativity and business are two totally different sides of the brain and often times those two sides don’t connect to each other.

Tilt has always been about art/design mixed with a little traditional business. We have taken the idea of visual communication and expanded upon it to include our other areas of interest that seem to make up the uniqueness of mine and Jess’ partnership and the overall Tilt family of companies. Those include our 4 main values: community, sustainability, knowledge, innovation and our values are physically surrounded by the earth as the primary resource and our ultimate benefactor for everything that we do. These 5 aspects work as a system to bring profitability to ourselves, our staff and eventually the world. By profitability that can mean a lot of things: monetary freedom, happiness, success, etc. To us it is everything listed and sustainability as a whole.
